How to Delete Multiple Photos on Facebook
Most users will already know that once they have uploaded a photo to Facebook, they can delete it at any time by clicking on the three dots icon in the top corner of the photo and selecting ‘Delete’.
What is more difficult to navigate, however, is the process for deleting multiple photos at once.
Deleting multiple photos at once is a good way to reset your profile, remove all memories from a specific occasion or period of time, or simply refresh your profile and photo albums with some purging of old content. Of course, you can delete entire albums with relative ease by clicking into those albums and then selecting the ‘Edit Album’ button, before confirming you want to ‘Delete Album’.
But if you don’t use albums or want to be more selective with your mass deletion, it can be time consuming to work out the exact process you need to follow.
Luckily, we’ve worked out the process so that you don’t have to.
5 Steps to Delete Multiple Photos on Facebook
- Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen
- Select ‘Settings and Privacy’ then ‘Settings’
- Scroll down to your ‘Activity Log’, listed under ‘Your Activity’
- Click on the ‘Your Facebook Activity’ dropdown, and then the ‘Posts’ dropdown
- Select ‘Your Posts, Photos and Videos’
This will open a list of all the photos you’ve added to your own Facebook profile.
You can delete as many of these as you like in one go, by selecting the check box at the left hand side of each update, and then clicking ‘Recycle Bin’ at the top of the screen.
Can You Delete Photos You’ve Been Tagged In?
While you cannot delete the actual photo that you’ve been tagged in, due to them being uploaded and owned by another user, what you can do is remove the tag.
You can do this manually if it is just one image that’s bothering you, or you can follow the process below to delete multiple tags in one go.
- Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen
- Select ‘Settings and Privacy’ then ‘Settings’
- Scroll down to your ‘Activity Log’, listed under ‘Your Activity’
- Click on the ‘Your Facebook Activity’ dropdown, and then the ‘Activity You’re Tagged In’ option
- Select ‘Photos and Videos You’re Tagged In’
You can now follow the same process as that outlined above, to remove your tag on different photos. Note how a small circular version of the tagged image appears next to each activity, so that you can ensure it’s the correct photo you are untagging.
We hope this helps and shows that it can be just as quick and easy to delete multiple photos as it is to delete one single image on Facebook.
